Out of the ashes of Fingernail Cocktail, Archaster was born. This was sometime in the last quarter of 1996. Fast forward to May 7th of this year, the band issued a free online EP called Badly Written Rhymes. You can download the two-song EP here.

Rewind back to last year, Oct. 10th to be specific, Archaster re-released digitally a re-recorded version of the out-of-print Willow Low EP, which first came out in 1999. The new "old" EP contains a cover of The Gothic Archies' "Smile, No One Cares How You Feel" not available from the previous version. Yes, very much so, Archaster is heavily influenced by Stephin Merritt's music. Download the Willow Low EP here.
Currently, Archaster is busy working on a couple of projects, including a contribution to the Trembling Blue Stars tribute album and a split CD-EP release, both under the dazzling new label, Dufflecoat Records and a collaborative effort with electronica outfit Tarsius.
